From Robyn Carr, #1 New York Times bestselling author of the popular Virgin River novels, comes Thunder Point-the highly anticipated new series that will make you laugh, make you sigh, and make you fall in love with a small town filled with people you'll never forget.

Nestled on the Oregon coast is a small town of rocky beaches and rugged charm. Locals love the land's unspoiled beauty. Developers see it as a potential gold mine. When newcomer Hank Cooper learns he's been left an old friend's entire beachfront property, he finds himself with a community's destiny in his hands.

Cooper has never been a man to settle in one place, and Thunder Point was supposed to be just another quick stop. But Cooper finds himself getting involved with the town. And with Sarah Dupre, a woman as complicated as she is beautiful.

With the whole town watching for his next move, Cooper has to choose between his old life and a place full of new possibilities. A place that just might be home.

Hank Cooper and Mac McCain : Jack and Preacher
Eve and Landon : Lizzie and Rick
Lou and Joe : Muriel and Walt

Gak sabar nunggu buku keduanya, yaitu The Newcomer. By the way, aku tadinya mengira RC salah judul, harusnya buku satu itu The Newcomer, kan si Cooper pendatang baru.

Hank Cooper came to the small town, Thunder Point, because his best friend, Ben, died suddenly and left a will for him. Cooper was quite surprised when he got a house, small restaurant, and a beach which is very beautiful.

Cooper actually did not want it at all, but because it is the last testament of Ben, Cooper finally agreed to see the city. Befriend with sheriff in town was quite pleasant. Make friends with some people whom are warm and accepting him as a newcomer.

Cooper used to wander alone. Now, he restored Ben's property, walked on the beach in front of the house, and on that beach he met Landon Dupre. A boy who was being bullied and Cooper helped him. Their friendship started from that moment. From Landon, Cooper was acquainted with Sarah Dupre who made him start to think to settle in one place.

As usual, Robyn Carr is the contemporary romance author who makes touching story about a small town which is warmth and welcoming. I do not know, compared to the Virgin River, I love both.

There is no new thing, but it seems Thunder Point series will tell the stories of men or women who are a single parent. There are some characters that reminded me of Virgin River character as:
Hank Cooper and Mac McCain: Jack and Preacher
Eve and Landon: Lizzie and Rick
Lou and Joe: Muriel and Walt

There are ,any characters in this story and I'm pretty sure each of them will be has their own story. Absolutely RC's typical to introduce some of the main characters in this book for the next books =)

It was also one of the reasons why I give 3.5 stars for The Wanderer. Since the number of characters, the story is lacking in the main characters interaction. I felt Mac and Gina portion is more than Cooper and Sarah portion.

Well, overall, I really enjoyed reading this story. I also like RC's writing style which is not merely about the romance of the two characters, but also the community, relationships with one another, and the reader can easily imagine the existence of the town.

Can not wait for her second book, The Newcomer. By the way, I had thought that RC gave the wrong title, it should book one that has the title of The Newcomer, since Cooper is the newcomer. But eventually I understood, The Wanderer was because Cooper can not stay in one place =)

Thunder Point series:
#1 The Wanderer
#2 The Newcomer
#3 The Hero
...on going...
