Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession..
This book reminds me a song by D'Cinnamons (one of Indonesian singer group). Here's the lyric:
Loving you it hurt sometimes
I'm standing here you just don't bye
I'm always there you just don't feel
Or you just don't wanna feel&nbsp
Don't wanna be hurt that way
It doesn't mean I'm givin' up
I wanna give you more&nbsp
And more and more
For me, the song deeply reflects how our main characters feels toward each other. Both of them love each other, obsessed, can't live without the other, and their feeling is fragile.

Why I said the feeling is fragile? Because jealousy can be an easy way to break them. They can't trust enough, they can't get enough, and too much secret in their relationship.
"I am obsessed with you, angel. Addicted to you. You're everything I've ever wanted or needed, everything I've dreamed of. You're everything. I live and breathe you. For you."
Yeah, this second book cut me deeply. I really could feel the emotion. My heart clenched when they said or doing something hurtful toward each other or themselves.
"Are you hurting anywhere else?" I asked, feeling so emotionally raw after the long night we'd had.
He caught my wrist and pulled my hand down to press flat over his heart. "Here."
Beside the well-written story and how deep the emotion involved, Sylvia Day really get me with the climax [spoiler]about Nathan Barker[end of spoiler]. I can't believe that Gideon did something like that! Really? He's the one? But I can accept it ^^

Overall, this is a good story about how a relationship could be so hard and you want to give up but you can't. Falling to deep in love, can't breathe, can't function, and can't live without the other. Sylvia Day, you made a character that made my heart melted away...
"I couldn't imagine that I'd ever fall in love again like I had with Gideon. For better or worse, he was my soulmate. The other half of me. In many ways, he was my reflection."[Eva]
"I'd rather argue with you, angel, than laugh with anyone else."[Gideon]
